Scope, Plan and Liaise With Western Power

We visit the block, work out the cleanest cable route, lodge your Before You Dig enquiry and handle the Western Power application and paperwork on your behalf.

Trench, Lay and Wire to Standard

We dig the trench, lay heavy-duty conduit at the correct depth, run your consumer mains from the pillar to the meter box and wire it neatly to AS/NZS 3000.

Connect, Test and Certify

We meet Western Power on site for the changeover, test the connection, tidy the trench and hand you your electrical safety certificate and service location drawing.

Underground Power Questions From WA Property Owners

In most cases yes. Western Power requires almost all new electricity connections to be underground, and any new lot created through subdivision must have an underground point of supply. There are limited exceptions on some rural blocks, which we can check for your address.

It is the switch from an overhead service line to an underground one. Western Power runs a cable from the street pole to a pillar, the green dome, on your boundary. We then install the consumer mains from that pillar to your meter box and connect it, and Western Power removes the old overhead supply.

No. Underground mains work must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor and connected under WA rules. On longer rural runs we also size the cable for voltage drop, so the far end still gets a proper supply.
